Climbing and abseiling kit list
Indoors
- Clothes that do not restrict movement, and have nothing loose and hanging
- Warm clothes in the winter months, as climbing centres are big buildings which are difficult to heat
- Trainers (sometimes you can hire climbing boots from the centres)
Outdoors
As above, but also:
- Jumper/fleece, even in the summer
- Waterproof
- Trainers or walking boots
Active interest
If you have developed an active interest in climbing and/or abseiling, then these are the sorts of things you should think about getting:
- Harness
- Climbing boots
- Belay device
- Karabiners
Lead climbing
If you're really keen on climbing and want to go out lead climbing on your own, you will need to look at buying:
- Quick draws
- Nuts
- Camming devices
